Summer is well underway! Oggie is getting invaluable baseball tips from Uncle Nate and cousin Ethan. Amity is full of smiles for everyone. Mom and Dad are holding down the fort with the 5 cousins during the day. We even get a little sleep now and then!
Oh, yea, before we headed out of town, we swung by the church on Pentecost and got Am baptized. She sounded pretty authentic at speaking in tongues once she was anointed by the Spirit. Here she is with her new godparents, Sebastian and Virginia.
All right. We are a vagabond family now. Jesse and the kids spent 2 weeks in Ft Davis while I packed up our life in Albuquerque, got promoted to Captain, separated from the AF the next day, and then hit the road and moved our household goods to Uncle Dave's garage in Austin. We just spent a couple days on the river in Junction, Texas. We're off to Connecticut tomorrow for the rest of the month, and then on to Rockport for July. I'll keep you updated as I can. For now, here's a pic from our mid-May trip up to Ouray, Colorado. It was so beautiful!
We're going to miss Albuquerque. Sidsel and Else dropped by to 'vi ses'. We then headed out to our farewell picnic at Roosevelt park. Jesse whipped up some addicting brisket, and everyone brought great side dishes, to include several cupcakes of which Og and Louis made short work.
So, we had a boys' campout last weekend. In order to get Oggie psyched up for it, all week I hyped up the boys-only aspect of the campout. Now he thinks that only boys can go camping. Mom has taken exception to this, and I'm sure Am would, too. We'll take care of that next time...
Anyway, here are some shots of our campsite, campmobile, campfire and most importantly SMORES!
We've had some busy weekends around here. A couple weeks ago we met up with Cita, Cito and Uncle Paul in El Paso. Here are a couple shots from the horse races:
